As a Senior Scientist in Protective Coatings R&D, you will play a key role in advancing next-generation coating solutions for demanding industrial environments. Based at the company's headquarters near Copenhagen, you will lead formulation development for sectors including oil & gas and wind energy, with a strong focus on sustainability, durability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and refine coating formulations to meet evolving technical and environmental standards.
  • Lead research initiatives that improve product performance, working closely with internal departments and external collaborators such as academic institutions and suppliers.
  • Apply analytical and physical testing methods to assess coating properties, including longevity, adhesion, and visual quality.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges across formulation, manufacturing, and field application phases.
  • Partner with R&D, marketing, sales, and quality assurance teams to align product development with market needs.
  • Monitor advancements in materials science and regulatory developments to maintain technological leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should hold a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of five years of experience in industrial coatings formulation. Deep understanding of coating chemistry and application methods is essential. Experience with epoxy and polyurethane systems is highly valued, as is prior work in sustainable coating technologies.

The ideal candidate combines technical precision with creative problem-solving, demonstrating strong communication abilities and the capacity to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams. A proactive mindset and commitment to quality are critical.
