BT is hiring a Senior Sales Manager, Business Development

Lead and shape new business growth in the private sector by managing a team of Business Development Managers. Focus on acquiring large, complex corporate clients across retail, charity, and business services. Define strategic direction, drive team performance, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to strengthen market presence and deliver results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Business Development Managers to achieve enterprise sales targets, promoting a customer-centric, high-performance culture.
  • Design and evolve acquisition strategies using market trends and whitespace analysis to identify and prioritize new business opportunities.
  • Optimize team structure, territory alignment, and customer assignments based on opportunity scale, team capabilities, and market priorities.
  • Monitor sales performance through KPIs, account planning, and opportunity assessment, with emphasis on conversion, quality, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with marketing, account management, and sales operations to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships that enhance market engagement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in enterprise-level business development or new business sales within the private sector, with strong strategic planning and performance management skills.
  • Proven ability to build scalable sales processes, operational discipline, and structure within growing or evolving sales teams.
  • Expertise in consultative selling, customer relationship management, and value-based approaches for complex, large-scale acquisitions.
  • Sector experience in telecommunications or technology, with deep understanding of economic and industry dynamics in retail, charity, and business services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of inclusive leadership, team motivation, and clear communication in high-performance environments.
