BT is looking for a Senior Sales Manager, Business Development to lead and shape new business growth within the private sector. Your role will focus on acquiring large and complex corporate customers across retail, charity, and business services, developing a high-performing team to win strategic new business.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of Business Development Managers to drive growth across enterprise accounts.
- Define and refine acquisition strategy, including account targeting, market opportunity identification, and go-to-market approach.
- Align team structure, territories, and customer allocation to match opportunity size, skill set, and market coverage priorities.
- Manage sales performance through clear KPIs, account planning, opportunity qualification, and performance metrics.
- Build and maintain wide stakeholder networks across the organization and customer base.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading high-performing business development or new business sales teams in the enterprise private sector.
- Strong capability in strategic planning and performance management.
- Experience building sales structure, process discipline, and operational rigor within evolving or growth-focused sales functions.
- Demonstrated expertise in customer relationship management, consultative selling, and value-based approaches for large and complex acquisition opportunities.
- Telco or Technology sector experience with strong vertical industry expertise and understanding of economic and industry drivers relevant to target markets.
- Ability to lead inclusively, create team energy, and communicate effectively.
