Alpaca is hiring a Senior Sales Engineer, APAC

Role Overview

As a Senior Sales Engineer in the Asia-Pacific region, you will act as the primary technical liaison between enterprise clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment between client requirements and platform capabilities. You'll play a central role in advancing sales cycles by delivering clear, tailored technical demonstrations and building confidence in the platform’s architecture and compliance posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical authority on the platform, explaining complex features and integrations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Advise on regional regulatory and compliance considerations specific to APAC markets
  • Partner with sales teams to design and deliver compelling technical narratives during client engagements
  • Lead discovery sessions, solution design, and validation processes including RFP responses and technical questionnaires
  • Develop clear, reusable sales enablement content for new product features and integrations
  • Orchestrate end-to-end technical demos that align with client use cases and business goals
  • Collaborate with product teams to stay ahead of roadmap developments and provide partner feedback
  • Travel as needed to support key customer meetings and on-site presentations

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in client-facing technical sales roles at SaaS or API-first companies
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, JSON, WebSockets, Postman, Grafana, and technical documentation tools
  • Proven ability to communicate complex systems in simple terms to executives and technical teams alike
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple technical evaluations simultaneously
  • Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders and C-level decision makers

Preferred Background

  • Experience in financial technology, broker-dealer environments, or securities infrastructure
  • Familiarity with FIX protocol, OpenAPI, ReadMe, Metabase, or demo platforms like Coast
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) or Series 7 certification, or willingness to obtain
  • Interest in deepening knowledge of capital markets and regulatory frameworks

Work Environment

This role supports a globally distributed team. Team members work remotely from locations including the USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Brazil, the UK, and other regions. There is no central office requirement—work happens where you are most effective.
