The Bosch Group is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to play a critical role in safeguarding end-users by ensuring the safety of new power tools and accessories. You will be responsible for analyzing product designs, identifying hazards, and devising mitigation measures throughout the development lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Analyze new product designs and prototypes to identify user hazards, assess risk, and develop hazard mitigation requirements.
- Document and maintain safety requirements in Product Safety Reviews throughout product development.
- Communicate Product Safety requirements to project teams via meetings, calls, and emails.
- Critically review test reports to confirm product safety qualification requirements are met.
- Provide safety input, warnings, and instructions for user manuals and review others' content for safety concerns.
- Create on-product warning label content per ANSI Z535 and mentor others in this process.
- Review product photography, videography, and marketing artwork for accurate representation of safe use and compliance with instructions.
- Mentor and train other Product Safety Engineers.
- Train product development teams on Product Safety requirements and workflow.
- Create and update Product Safety procedures and design guidelines.
- Support product investigations for testing and field returns.
- Challenge product development teams on appropriate hazard mitigation methods.
Work Mode
This position is a hybrid role based in Mount Prospect, Illinois.
