About the Role
You will join a research team that supports project groups by applying biophysical methods and developing injectable formulations for diverse therapeutic modalities, including peptides, proteins, monoclonal antibodies, and multispecific molecules. The role provides autonomy within research projects and involves daily collaboration with experts in biology, chemistry, and recombinant technologies, as well as occasional engagement with external partners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct biophysical analysis and screening of early-stage compounds from discovery through to Phase 1 formulation, ensuring readiness for transfer to development teams.
- Apply advanced biophysical methods such as light scattering, chromatography, SAXS, nanoDSF, and FIDA in support of research initiatives.
- Design and execute experiments to inform molecule design and selection, with a focus on enhancing developability of future therapeutics.
- Collaborate with scientists and lab technicians across disciplines, contributing to cross-functional scientific exchange.
- Lead the adoption of innovative technologies and improved workflows within the research department.
Benefits
- Professional growth opportunities are embedded in the work environment, and benefits are tailored to support individual career progression and personal life stages.
Team
Structure: Part of the Drug Product Research unit; three departments sharing biophysical characterisation and injectable formulation development as core tasks
Your new role
In Biophysics and Injectable Formulation, we engage in project teams and apply our technologies for biophysical characterisation and development of fit-for-purpose injectable formulations. We cover a diverse set of drug molecule modalities from peptides, proteins, monoclonal antibodies to multi-specific formats. The role offers a high level of independence and flexibility within the research project framework. You will work closely with scientists within biology, chemistry, recombinant technologies at Novo Nordisk on a daily basis, and collaborate occasionally with external industry and academic partners.
About the department
The Biophysics and Injectable Formulation research area consists of three departments that share biophysical characterisation of biomolecules and injectable formulation development as core tasks. We house a broad portfolio of state-of-the-art biophysical instrumentation and automation. We are part of the Drug Product Research unit that is overall responsible for early injectable and oral formulation development and analyses of Drug Products across the entire Novo Nordisk research portfolio.
