Provide technical leadership for remote sensing space systems across all project phases, from concept to commissioning, serving defense and security clients. Lead system architecture, requirements definition, and client engagement in an international context.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support engineering efforts for remote sensing space projects
- Capture and interpret customer requirements and operational needs
- Evaluate and select technologies required for system architecture implementation
- Analyze ground segment operations and contribute to Concept of Operations development
- Review or develop system-level requirements, including contractual technical documents and baseline definitions
- Analyze, review, or develop mission procedures, including their verification and validation
- Serve as technical interface with clients on system engineering matters
- Prepare for and attend project reviews, technical workshops, and client meetings
- Contribute to technical proposals and feasibility studies
- Participate in defining or assessing future remote sensing systems, including Electro-Optical, SAR, ELINT, and Lidar
- Conduct trade-off analyses and evaluate innovative architectures during early concept phases
- Gather user requirements, develop and compare high-level preliminary designs, define system requirements, and assess costs during feasibility studies
- Develop or review ground system specifications covering design, testing, acceptance, and operations for inclusion in RFPs
- Evaluate and compare industry proposals during procurement phases
- Support final contract negotiations with selected bidders
- Monitor industrial contracts covering design, integration, testing, and commissioning of remote sensing space systems
- Deliver operations support and training to client teams
- Perform technical due diligence assessments for space systems
Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering, with a focus on aerospace or remote sensing preferred
- Minimum of ten years of industry experience in remote sensing space instruments or systems
- At least five years managing technical aspects of remote sensing space projects and teams in international settings
- Solid understanding of Electro-Optical (EO) instruments and systems
- Solid understanding of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology
- Familiarity with other remote sensing systems such as ELINT and Lidar
- Experience in generating and managing system requirements
- Background in systems engineering principles and practices
- Knowledge of space system operations
- Ability to balance commercial objectives with operational needs
- Strong report writing and presentation skills, with ability to tailor content to different audiences
- Fluency in English
