RTX Corporation seeks a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team in McKinney, Texas. As a P3 engineer, you will be responsible for leading reliability activities throughout program phases and conducting crucial technical analyses. You will apply your expertise to ensure the robustness of our systems in a mission-critical environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead or conduct reliability activities through multiple program phases: proposal, development, and production.
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct technical reliability trade studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts.
- Develop RM&T analyses, including Mean Time Between Failure predictions per MIL-HDBK-217.
- Perform Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) per MIL-HDBK-1629.
- Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to implement continuous reliability improvement as part of a closed-loop FRACA process.
- Generate formal, customer-deliverable RM&T report documentation.
- Conduct reliability growth testing.
- Effectively communicate, both written and orally, with teams including program management, proposal management, and customers, and represent WLE in technical meetings and program reviews.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience conducting Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to identify root cause, implement corrective action, and monitor for improvement.
- Experience with Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA).
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the DoD customer community (US Army, US Air Force, US Navy).
- Experience in other engineering disciplines such as maintainability, testability, system safety, human systems integration, logistics, technical publications, training, and/or affordability.
- Experience working across multiple disciplines and organizational levels.
- Experience in presenting data to internal or external customers.
- Experience with product testing and troubleshooting in the factory/depot or field environment.
- Experience with reliability analysis tools (e.g., Reliasoft Tool Suite or Windchill).
- Experience working with and interpreting interfaces between hardware and software.
- Experience in working with software/firmware development and implementation.
- Experience conducting Earned Value Management activities to manage budget/schedule performance.
- Experience generating RM&T cost estimates and technical analyses in support of proposals.
