Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients on projects as a Senior React Native Consultant
- Lead by example with communication and advocate for how we work as consultants, especially in difficult situations
- Manage projects to ensure successful delivery
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, developers, and clients to help solve problems
- Deliver high-quality, well-tested software
- Mentor both client and thoughtbot engineering teams in software best practices
- Advise on product prioritization, agile process, team culture, and communication
- Help contribute to growing expertise in using AI to help solve real-world client needs
- During investment time, contribute to the broader tech community, thoughtbot, and yourself
- Contribute to thoughtbot's open-source work and blog content
Requirements
- Significant React Native experience
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
- Ability to build and ship high-quality React Native applications
- Experience managing projects to ensure successful delivery
- Ability to work directly with clients as a consultant
- Strong communication skills, especially in difficult situations
- Ability to mentor both client and thoughtbot engineering teams in software best practices
- Ability to advise on product prioritization, agile process, team culture, and communication
Nice to Have
- Additional experience or interest in native mobile development, such as iOS with Swift or Android with Kotlin
- Experience in web development, especially with Ruby on Rails, or other languages
- Experience with a client-facing role like consulting, teaching, or business development
- Proven track record of attracting potential customers
