About the Role
The role involves managing end-to-end project lifecycles for advanced sensing systems, coordinating cross-functional teams, maintaining client communication, and ensuring projects meet technical, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead full project cycles from initiation to closure for technical sensing solutions
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource requirements
- Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams across departments
- Monitor project progress against timelines and milestones
- Identify and mitigate risks that could impact delivery or quality
- Manage project budgets and ensure financial accountability
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all project phases
- Facilitate regular status meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards
- Drive continuous improvement in project management practices
- Support proposal development and project scoping for new opportunities
- Act as primary point of contact for client project inquiries
- Enforce quality assurance processes throughout project execution
- Lead change management for project scope or timeline adjustments
- Mentor junior project team members and promote best practices
- Utilize project management tools to track tasks and deliverables
- Ensure alignment between project objectives and organizational goals
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance as needed
- Maintain strong communication across technical and non-technical teams
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical or management discipline
- Experience managing projects in the Earth observation or satellite domain
- Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
- Agile or Scrum project management experience
- Familiarity with ISO or CMMI standards
- Prior work in South African defense or aerospace sectors
