About the Role

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is hiring a Senior Project Manager, Data Center Construction to direct senior-level project management services on assigned client projects. This role specializes in technical and mission-critical construction, primarily for data centers, ensuring superior client service and project success.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute project-specific goals, schedules, budgets, and strategy with a clear methodology for managing objectives.
  • Establish and maintain project goals and success criteria that meet both JLL and client needs.
  • Build and maintain confidence and rapport with client representatives, ensuring full understanding of project scope and deliverables.
  • Coordinate necessary due diligence efforts on behalf of the internal team, project partners, and clients.
  • Develop a detailed project budget based on historical and market data and a clearly defined set of budget assumptions.
  • Act as the primary senior-level contact with the client throughout the project duration.
  • Guide the client and team through the design implementation process, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documentation and signoff.
  • Develop and maintain Master Project Schedules and manage the successful execution of projects.
  • Prepare RFPs for vendor and contractor services and manage the contractor and vendor selection process.
  • Develop procedures for distribution, receipt, opening, leveling, and award of projects and services.
  • Facilitate and initiate all critical project meetings and coordination exercises with internal staff, key stakeholders, and external users.
  • Manage project performance against schedules, milestones, and critical path items on multiple projects.
  • Manage vendor and project team performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, regulations, and client expectations.
  • Build and manage teams as applicable.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and risk.
  • Contribute to the refinement of best practices and standards of excellence for the business unit and JLL overall.
  • Assist in training and developing JLL team members in firm procedures, methodology, and practices.
  • Directly responsible for enhancing team revenues through the maintenance and expansion of existing client relationships and by developing new relationships.
  • Ensure that all accounts receivables are maintained at a level not to exceed planned working capital charge.

What We're Looking For

  • 10 to 15 years in responsible charge of Tier 2, 3, or 4 Data Centers or Critical Manufacturing Operations.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management or related activity.
  • Ability to regularly articulate and communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goals.
  • Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients and external team members.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively, including budgeting, scheduling, submittals, and change orders.
  • Fully competent at managing all types and sizes of projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications and MS Project.
  • Demonstrates skills that enable the successful execution of more complex transactions.
  • Position may work primarily at client site or project location with potential daily client and contractor interaction.
  • Face-to-face and/or remote daily interpersonal interaction is required.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
  • LEED, AIA, PE, or PMP certifications.
