Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
- Act as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during program execution.
- Oversee the establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other required documents.
- Establish program requirements for all areas of the project and monitor draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
- Assign responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates based on their qualifications and strengths.
- Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.
- Maintain current and timely change orders and advise the client and company management of significant changes.
- Mobilize company resources to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
- Provide input on performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
- Discuss qualifications required for key project positions with profit center and department managers.
- Work with managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for various project elements.
- Devise and execute action plans to address potential cost overruns, delays, or significant changes to the scope of work.
- Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through the application of Quality Assurance processes.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activities, including significant milestones and conditions affecting cost or schedule.
- Establish weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
- Market and secure additional work with the client.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and public meetings in support of clients.
- Collaborate with office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical/business field.
- Around 20 years of related work experience, including previous project management experience on similar or related projects (e.g., underpasses, highways, and infrastructure).
- Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
- Familiarity with the integration of engineering/technical aspects, as well as procurement and construction activities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
- Knowledge of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on projects.
