GE HealthCare is hiring a Senior Project Engineer Manager - FACTS to serve as the technical leader across engineering teams, guiding the design of on-shore substation and HVDC/FACTS balance-of-plant packages. You will be responsible for planning and leading basic and detailed design, managing execution progress, and coordinating engineering work done by subcontractors to deliver high-quality results on time and on budget.
What You'll Do
- Serve as project technical leader to develop scope, schedule, budgets, and monitor engineering activities and deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and interface with Tendering, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, EHS, Quality, Project Management Sourcing, and Engineering sub-contractors.
- Design all activities in compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and GE Grid Solutions policies.
- Design or oversee the design of utility and industrial substations, including power one-line diagrams, station general arrangements, specifications, equipment application, buildings layout, auxiliary power, raceway design, and all related studies.
- Propose and implement an efficient reporting process to measure engineering progress and on-time delivery.
- Manage technical risk through design strategy, design, GATE, and safety reviews.
- Use critical judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of technology or engineering.
- Communicate difficult or sensitive information to stakeholders and work to build consensus.
- Develop persuasion skills to influence project team, customer, and stakeholders.
- Identify, alert, and propose corrective action plans for any major scope deviation.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years in HVDC system, FACTS, industrial, renewable, or utility HV & EHV substation design.
- Professional Engineering license in the United States, and willing to review and seal drawings.
- Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time, including international.

- Experience executing large and complex substation/plant projects.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with correct English spelling, grammar, and syntax.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- EPC Project experience in the field of High voltage substations.
