GE HealthCare is hiring a Senior Project Engineer Manager - FACTS

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical aspects of customer projects, defining scope, schedule, budget, and overseeing engineering execution.
  • Serve as primary technical contact for internal teams, external partners, and clients during project development.
  • Ensure all design activities comply with industry codes, internal policies, and regulatory standards within budget and timeline.
  • Apply expertise in substation systems, including AIS and GIS, transformers, protection and control, and high-voltage electrical engineering, with focus on HVDC and FACTS applications.
  • Utilize foundational knowledge in civil engineering for substation infrastructure planning.
  • Collaborate with engineering units to design utility and industrial substations, covering one-line diagrams, layout plans, specifications, equipment installation, auxiliary systems, raceways, and associated technical studies.
  • Develop and maintain effective reporting mechanisms to track engineering progress, document delivery, and response to client feedback.
  • Identify and manage technical risks through design planning, gate reviews, and safety assessments.
  • Exercise sound engineering judgment to resolve complex technical challenges and decision-making scenarios.
  • Mentor and support less experienced team members in technical and project execution matters.
  • Deliver difficult or sensitive project updates to stakeholders while fostering alignment and agreement.
  • Build influence and negotiation capabilities to guide project teams, clients, and cross-functional partners.
  • Detect major scope deviations, escalate to leadership, and propose corrective actions promptly.

Leads multiple engineering teams; coordinates with Tendering, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, Product Engineering, EHS, Quality, Project Management, Sourcing, and external engineering subcontractors.

  • Approximately 20% travel, including international destinations.
