PCL Construction / PCL Industrial Services, Inc. is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. You will take on key responsibilities for impactful civil infrastructure projects, many with substantial self-perform components, in sectors like water/wastewater, concrete, or heavy civil work.
What You'll Do
- Perform quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress, reporting, and change management.
- Maintain the contract for complex subcontracted scopes, including defining work scope, answering inquiries, and monitoring progress.
- Review and understand broad contract obligations and assist the site manager in project start-up activities.
- Participate in reviews of subcontractors’ submittals for compliance with scope, design, and coordination.
- Assist with site inspections for installation deficiencies and witness systems commissioning.
- Identify potential risks on project scopes and the overall project.
What We're Looking For
- Detailed knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, HSE, quality, and building materials.
- Ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Able to create and lead schedules on a comprehensive scale.
- Ability to formulate and administer subcontracts and contract documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems, with a strong aptitude for new technology.
Nice to Have
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 4–6 years of construction experience in an operational role.
