About the Role
This role bridges illustration, production art, and gameplay-focused visual design to create training simulations that are both educational and engaging. The artist will develop assets and systems that support learning objectives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality interactive content.
Responsibilities
- Convert educational content and learning goals into interactive game mechanics with balanced risk and reward structures
- Shape the pacing, feedback loops, and difficulty progression to maintain engagement while preserving academic integrity
- Participate in playtesting to detect and resolve usability issues, unclear feedback, and visual inconsistencies
- Establish metrics for user engagement, retention, and learning effectiveness to assess post-launch performance
- Produce polished visual assets for characters, environments, props, UI components, icons, and in-world objects
- Interpret creative direction and instructional requirements into visual concepts, storyboards, and production-ready materials
- Collaborate with product managers, researchers, writers, designers, animators, and creative leads to align fun, clarity, and pedagogy
- Manage end-to-end asset creation workflows, ensuring files are organized, reusable, and accessible to technical teams
- Develop and maintain visual standards, design patterns, and documentation to ensure consistency across projects
- Identify ways to enhance production quality and efficiency through improved asset planning, templates, and ethical AI-assisted workflows
