At M&T Bank, we are seeking a Senior Product Owner - M&A to lead the agile digital product team for our Institutional Services division. This role is central to our strategic direction, representing the voice of the customer and stakeholders to set a comprehensive vision aligned with business objectives. You will be instrumental in defining new opportunities and working closely with senior leadership.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with stakeholders, engineering, and business architects to create a compelling product vision aligned with company goals.
- Coach the team to achieve excellence in product management artifacts like roadmaps, backlogs, and requirements.
- Analyze competitors and industry trends to advance M&A digital products and drive innovation.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand problems, align on long-term business priorities and metrics, and rapidly test ideas.
- Prioritize a feature backlog in partnership with other Digital Product Owners and manage/remove blockers.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls.
- Manage a team of Product Owners, including people, budget and planning, exercising usual authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, and terminations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 14 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience.
- Proven business expertise with experience in setting clear priorities, understanding business value impacts and independent decision-making.
- Prior experience prioritizing across competing priorities and quickly-changing landscapes.
- Prior experience actively seeking out multiple opinions, yet making independent decisions and influencing positive outcomes.
Nice to Have
- Understanding of Design Thinking principles.
- Knowledge of product design and development best practices.
- Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices.
- Experience working in partnership with user experience teams on product design.
- Experience developing/managing digital capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with M&A transaction lifecycle and deal management services.

You will manage a team of Product Owners as part of the Strategy and Execution team focused on digital innovation within Institutional Services. The role involves working in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary Range: $150,466.11 - $250,776.86 Annual (USD)
