About the Role
This role involves leading the development and operations of secure, high-performance computing environments supporting classified space missions. The candidate will work closely with engineering and security teams to ensure systems meet strict regulatory and performance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure IT architectures for space-related classified programs
- Manage deployment and configuration of computing systems in secure environments
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards and accreditation requirements
- Collaborate with software and systems engineers to integrate operational solutions
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot operational issues
- Lead incident response for classified infrastructure outages or breaches
- Maintain documentation for system configurations and security controls
- Support audits and security assessments for compliance
- Develop automation tools to streamline operations and reduce manual effort
- Enforce access controls and identity management protocols
- Work with classified networks to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
- Coordinate with government stakeholders on technical requirements
- Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Optimize infrastructure for scalability and reliability
- Stay current with emerging threats and security best practices
- Lead onboarding and training for new operations team members
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies into existing secure environments
- Support system integration testing in classified labs
- Ensure secure patching and vulnerability management processes
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for critical systems
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a technical or security-related field
- Experience with satellite ground systems or mission operations
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+
- Knowledge of DevOps practices in secure environments
- Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration
- Familiarity with zero-trust architecture principles
- Background in space domain awareness or command and control systems
- Experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government
- Prior work in defense or intelligence community programs
- Leadership experience in technical operations teams

Security Requirements
