About the Role
This role is crucial to advancing our platform’s integration capabilities and scalability. You will lead technical initiatives that directly impact product evolution, customer experience, and long-term platform success. Working in a remote-first environment, you’ll collaborate across disciplines to solve complex challenges and deliver robust, future-proof systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end resolution of complex integration and platform challenges, from initial discovery through design, delivery, iteration, and long-term maintenance.
- Operate effectively in uncertain environments by helping define product direction and building robust backend systems, with flexibility to contribute across the full technology stack.
- Enhance and modernize existing integrations, refine internal tools and workflows, and transform legacy or manual processes into scalable and dependable systems.
- Work closely with designers, customer success teams, and engineers to continuously improve the product and underlying systems, with regular feedback from leadership, operations, and customers.
- Increase support for EDI message types to enable deeper automation and streamline customer workflows.
- Develop and scale an integrations marketplace that improves customer ability to discover, activate, and trust third-party connections.
- Design and release a public API that provides external developers and partners with secure, well-documented access to platform capabilities.
- Optimize integration infrastructure and processes to improve scalability, reliability, and self-service capabilities for existing integrations.
- Improve internal tooling and observability to simplify debugging, monitoring, and long-term evolution of integration systems.
Requirements
- Demonstrated full-stack experience with production-level proficiency in both frontend and backend development, including modern frameworks, APIs, and database systems.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to contribute to technical architecture, design scalable solutions, and plan for long-term platform growth.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to understanding user needs, shaping impactful solutions, and enhancing user experience.
- Proven ability to take ownership, work independently, and maintain momentum in fast-paced, ambiguous environments typical of early-stage companies.
- Effective collaborator who communicates clearly across disciplines and supports a remote-friendly, asynchronous work culture.

Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience designing, maintaining, and evolving public APIs, including considerations for authentication, versioning, and developer usability.
- Background working with third-party integrations such as POS, accounting, or marketplace platforms, including managing external partner limitations.
- Experience integrating with mission-critical business systems like EDI, accounting, HR, payroll, inventory, or point-of-sale platforms.
