General Dynamics NASSCO is hiring a Senior Procurement Specialist to perform Supply Chain Management (SCM) tasks in direct support of the company's new construction and repair programs. In this role, you will ensure compliance with policies and procedures while actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and negotiate terms for moderate-to-high-dollar, high-volume purchases of supplies and services.
- Prepare contract terms, monitor supplier performance, and issue modifications while adhering to budget and schedule.
- Manage and oversee inventory for multiple commodities.
- Develop complex bids, perform cost/price analysis, and conduct Estimates at Completion (EAC) analysis.
- Contribute to cost reduction and process improvement initiatives to meet company goals.
- Provide guidance and direction to less experienced supply chain personnel.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships while enforcing contracts and resolving disagreements.
- Prepare fully supported procurement packages in line with department procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
- Analyze contract documents for compliance with prime contracts, company policy, and government regulations.
- Perform material management to maintain supply and inventory levels.
- Resolve material discrepancies and interpret policies and procedures.
- Interface with other departments and suppliers to resolve procurement issues.
- Identify complex issues for management and recommend resolutions.
- Develop technical expertise regarding materials and services.
- Utilize company business information systems and Purchasing Department systems.
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of Purchasing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Liberal Arts or a related field.
Team & Environment
You will report to SCM Department supervision/management as assigned.
Work Mode
This position requires working onsite.
