AECOM is seeking a Senior Process Piping Design Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of piping systems for industrial processes, particularly in data centers and advanced manufacturing. The role involves technical leadership, project management, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid work environment.
What You'll Do
- Develop detailed piping designs, layouts, and specifications based on project requirements and industry standards.
- Perform stress analysis and thermal expansion calculations to ensure system integrity.
- Select appropriate materials and components for piping systems, considering factors such as temperature, pressure, and chemical compatibility.
- Lead piping engineering efforts for projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil, electrical) to integrate piping systems into overall project designs.
- Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments for piping-related activities.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, OSHA).
- Conduct quality assurance checks and audits of piping systems during design and construction phases.
- Conduct hydraulic and flow analysis to optimize piping system performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to piping systems during construction, commissioning, and operation.
- Supervise junior engineers and designers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the team to enhance overall performance.
- Communicate technical solutions and progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials and equipment.
