Renesas Electronics is seeking a Senior Principal System Engineer to architect and specify Power ICs with Switching Converters. In this senior technical leadership role, you will define product requirements from the system level down to the IC level.
What You'll Do
- Define multiple Power ICs with Switching Converters, starting from system level specifications and taking them to IC level specifications.
- Architect the IC and break down System/Chip-top level requirements into block level specifications.
- Work with the product design team to complete the IC development.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and risks.
- Work across domains and geographies to ensure delivery dates are met.
- Bring in innovative ideas to improve designs to meet challenging specifications and achieve better system performance.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and freshers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 15+ years in systems engineering with extensive customer-facing experience.
- Must have customer-facing experience and understand needs of customer, able to articulate those needs to define product requirements.
- Must have defined multiple Power ICs with Switching Converters, starting from system level specifications and taking them to IC level specifications.
- Must be proficient in designing complete switching converters and all involved I/Ps.
- A very good understanding of Power devices, operations and design trade-offs for better performance & reliability.
- In-depth understanding of and ability to choose, design & compensate Control loops keeping in mind the target performance.
- Good understanding of commonly used control loop architectures (Constant Freq, Constant ON/OFF Time, Current mode etc) and pros/limitations of each.
- In-depth knowledge of system simulation tools like Simplis.
- Must be a technical and people leader & natural team player, mentor and should strive towards fostering a highly creative and productive working environment.
- Solid understanding and design experience of complex systems design with full ownership.
