TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods is hiring a Senior Principal Developer for our AI Accelerator team. In this role, you will bridge business vision and technical execution, acting as a technical expert and collaborative leader. You will be responsible for designing, assembling, and delivering intelligent applications that streamline operations and enhance AI service delivery.
What You'll Do
- Lead cross-functional teams to design and implement end-to-end AI and machine learning solutions.
- Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Lead technical design discussions and architectural reviews with technical and non-technical collaborators.
- Build strong relationships with product managers, business analysts, and senior management.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering technical growth and best practices.
- Achieve consensus among diverse teams and resolve conflicts through effective communication.
- Design and develop comprehensive solutions using modern cloud technologies and platforms (GCP/Azure).
- Lead the development of AI and generative AI-based automation solutions with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Design and implement reliable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Create proof-of-concept demonstrations and prototypes to validate business needs.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and solution architectures.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and development practices.
- Present technical concepts in accessible terms to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product teams to refine requirements and propose innovative solutions.
- Manage expectations and effectively communicate project status, risks, and dependencies.
- Facilitate technical discussions in cross-functional meetings and steering committees.
What We're Looking For
- Over 7 years of software development experience, including over 4 years in technical leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to present to technical and senior management audiences.
- Experience in requirement gathering, facilitating design sessions, and technical/architectural reviews.
- Excellent relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to influence others without authority.
- Experience in mentoring and developing technical skills.
- Expertise in generalist development with modern frameworks and technologies.
- Strong experience developing and implementing AI and machine learning solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform and Azure) and distributed systems architecture.
- Experience with large language models and current generative AI technologies and platforms.
- Expertise in software architecture patterns, API design, and system integration.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic analysis skills.
- Frontend: React, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, responsive design.
- Backend: Python, Node.js, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs.
- Cloud Platforms: GCP (BigQuery, Looker), Azure, serverless architectures.
- Machine Learning & AI Technologies: ML frameworks, generative AI platforms, MCP, A2A.
- Data Management: cloud data stores, integrations, data pipeline design.
- Development & Operations: continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure as code, containerization.
- Databases: vector databases, SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling.
- Advanced knowledge of English is required for frequent external interactions.
