About the Role

The Senior Engineer leads technical execution, coordinates multidisciplinary teams, and ensures high-voltage system designs meet safety, quality, and performance standards across large-scale power projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical planning and execution for substations and associated plant systems in major power infrastructure projects.
  • Provide leadership to engineering teams by setting clear objectives, expectations, and conducting performance reviews to achieve project goals.
  • Identify key internal and external stakeholders, understand their technical and operational needs, and facilitate effective communication to align project efforts.
  • Manage all engineering tasks including schedule creation and updates, design safety, review planning, optimization, on-time delivery, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.
  • Execute complete high-voltage outdoor substation design independently, from concept to final deliverables.
  • Supervise engineers and designers, coordinating with procurement and project teams on technical specifications, cost, and timeline targets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners including engineering directors, project engineers, designers, CAD staff, project managers, and support units.
  • Produce critical design documentation such as single-line diagrams, layout plans, elevations, construction details, and arrangements for HV equipment, cabling, grounding, and control structures.
  • Oversee or conduct necessary engineering studies, calculations, and bill of materials development.
  • Consolidate and manage project bills of materials and master data lists from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and draft technical specifications for high-voltage equipment, supporting procurement and vendor evaluation processes.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and project managers to resolve engineering issues.
  • Manage technical change control processes and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Support the Project Engineering Director in overseeing subcontractor performance, including scope definition, time tracking, change management, quality, and schedule compliance.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet customer-defined critical-to-quality requirements.

Compensation

133,400.00 - 178,000.00 USD Annual
