Social Infrastructure and Citizen Services is hiring a Senior Planner to join the team delivering the Build Better Together program. You will report to the E&U Planning Manager and focus on Power Projects, Transmission Lines, and Substations, taking responsibility for preparing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules.
What You'll Do
- Work across both Bid and Delivery stages for multiple projects.
- Prepare resource and cost-loaded detailed project schedules that accurately reflect contract conditions, design, and specifications, leveraging your construction experience.
- Maintain and update project schedules, incorporating subcontractor plans to ensure work package execution.
- Ensure compliance with Downer’s Standards and requirements for Schedule Quality and Change Management.
- Perform delay analysis as required by contracts and support with narrative.
- Manage, review, and analyze subcontractor schedules to confirm alignment with good practice and company standards.
- Assist in developing project practices and procedures.
- Undertake reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- A tertiary qualification – a Degree, or equivalent, in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Project Management is preferred.
- 10+ years of site construction experience on Power Projects, Transmission Lines, and Substations.
- Excellent knowledge of CPM scheduling concepts and delay analysis techniques.
- Commercial experience planning and scheduling for small and large projects using Primavera P6 (essential) and Microsoft Project (used predominately).
- Previous experience in an Earned Value Management System.
- Microsoft Visio knowledge and working experience.
- Certifications/Competence on the Primavera P6 scheduling tool (Required).
- Oracle DB knowledge and qualifications.
- Experience with Extension of Time and Delay Analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and self-discipline.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft PowerBi skills and experience developing reporting dashboards.
- A Project Management certification.
- Risk Management experience.
