The Senior Planner reports to the E&U Planning Manager and is responsible for creating, updating, and tracking detailed project schedules for Power Projects, Transmission Lines, and Substations under the Build Better Together program. The position is based in Adelaide or Melbourne with a hybrid work model and includes occasional site visits.
Responsibilities
- Support projects across both bid and delivery phases, ensuring timely and accurate planning inputs.
- Develop detailed, resource- and cost-loaded project schedules using historical construction data and contract specifications.
- Update and maintain project schedules, integrating subcontractor programs to align with overall project execution plans.
- Ensure schedules comply with internal standards for quality and change management as defined by the Utilities Performance Commercial & Risk team.
- Conduct delay analysis when required and provide clear, evidence-based narrative support for contractual reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Project Management.
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience on Power Projects, Transmission Lines, and Substations.
- Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and delay analysis methodologies.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems.
- Experience using Microsoft Visio for planning documentation and process mapping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBi for developing performance dashboards.
- Project Management certification is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of Oracle Database systems and risk management principles.
