Position Overview
This role is part of the Development team and focuses on creating impactful content that strengthens relationships with donors. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Donor Communications Manager ensures that all donor-facing materials reflect KIND’s mission, values, and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clear, engaging content that speaks to donors at every level—from new contributors to long-standing supporters
- Collaborate with the Communications department to maintain consistent tone, brand alignment, and strategic focus
- Adapt messaging to reflect current events and the evolving context of KIND’s work with empathy and insight
- Write stewardship letters that acknowledge donor contributions in a sincere and meaningful way
- Translate complex policy developments into accessible, donor-friendly language
- Prepare tailored proposals for mid- and major-level donor prospects

- Proven writing ability with a talent for storytelling and emotional resonance
- Experience addressing diverse donor segments with appropriate tone and depth
- Sensitivity to the social and political landscape in which KIND operates
- Skill in simplifying intricate topics without losing nuance or impact
- Ability to work strategically and independently while maintaining alignment with leadership
