About the Role

This role involves leading payroll operations for Australia, ensuring precise and compliant execution across systems and teams while supporting process improvements and employee inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll for Australian employees with high accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and statutory requirements
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to reconcile payroll data
  • Support payroll audits and year-end reporting activities
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian payroll legislation
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
  • Manage payroll journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
  • Oversee leave accruals, superannuation contributions, and deductions
  • Assist in onboarding new hires into payroll systems
  • Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues quickly
  • Ensure data privacy and confidentiality in all payroll activities
  • Support system upgrades and payroll software implementations
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports to regulatory bodies
  • Coordinate with external payroll vendors when necessary
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to payroll
  • Provide backup support for other payroll team members
  • Monitor payroll timelines and meet strict deadlines
  • Contribute to documentation of payroll policies and procedures
