Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is looking for a Senior Outreach Manager to design and implement local integrated customer outreach plans. You will drive customer adoption of PSE’s products and services, including energy efficiency programs, renewable energy options, bill assistance, and emergency preparedness initiatives. This role is pivotal in engaging customers to reduce energy costs, meet sustainability goals, and support PSE’s clean energy future.
What You'll Do
- Create partnerships with tribal communities to understand their clean energy goals and align them with PSE’s programs.
- Understand customers and communities facing barriers to participation and design targeted outreach approaches to benefit them.
- Partner with customer insights, program, marketing, and events teams to design tailored outreach strategies for diverse customer segments.
- Build and maintain relationships with tribal community partners and tribal business owners.
- Interact directly with customers, including small and medium business owners, tribal communities, and residential customers.
- Develop and maintain expertise on complex programs and how to bundle them effectively for customers.
- Plan and lead program education presentations, workshops, and tabling events.
- Increase participation in existing products and services and raise awareness for customer emergency preparedness.
- Build trust and strategic community relationships through consistent in-person outreach to foster two-way dialogue.
- Manage contractual relationships for select community partnerships.
- Work with marketing and events teams to support on-the-ground outreach for program campaigns.
- Ensure a coordinated customer outreach approach across multiple departments.
- Identify obstacles to customer participation and propose potential solutions.
- Negotiate and engage with multiple internal PSE entities to reach consensus on overcoming customer participation barriers.
- Develop local direct-to-customer outreach plans for assigned communities for all appropriate PSE products and services.
- Design residential and/or small business program-specific outreach plans for PSE’s entire service area for implementation by regional colleagues.
- Operate a motor vehicle a minimum of six (6) hours weekly to travel to commercial and community locations.
- During emergency events, support corporate crisis response efforts at a local level to provide customers with critical information.
- Carry out PSE's corporate messaging on natural gas/electric safety and emergency preparedness.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, social work, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Seven (7) years of experience in external relationship management and customer outreach.
- Experience in customer outreach and community relations, including engaging on complex issues.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and execution of customer outreach plans.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record of innovation and creative thinking.
- Strong project management skills, including hands-on activities and managing projects with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated familiarity with community needs and advocating on its behalf.
- Ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and an irregular schedule.
- Successful track record developing relationships with external partners and diverse communities.
- Ability to think strategically and collaborate with others.
- Ability to connect with customers in person within the assigned service area regularly.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends on occasion as needed.
- Current Washington State Driver’s License.

- Bilingual or fluent written and verbal communication in Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Korean.
- Knowledge and familiarity with the local community, including those who face barriers to participation.
- Knowledge and familiarity with tribal communities.
- Understanding of the utility business model.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy, corporate responsibility, and sustainability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Compensation range: $94,300.00 - $156,900.00.
