Responsibilities
- Manage 3D spatial layout and integration of reactor cavity components, including reactor vessel, support systems, instrumentation, shielding, and maintenance access points.
- Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and instrumentation & controls teams to define spatial, thermal, and functional interfaces between the reactor vessel, cavity systems, and biological shield.
- Lead design integration reviews to verify compatibility, constructability, and maintainability of systems and components.
- Develop standardized layout practices, component interface designs, and remote maintenance connection methods to improve manufacturing, assembly, and servicing efficiency.
- Communicate and coordinate component requirements with multidisciplinary teams such as nuclear design, reactor systems, coolant systems, safety analysis, remote handling, and manufacturing.
- Conduct design verification and validation to confirm systems meet operational and safety performance criteria.
- Support hazard and failure analyses including HAZOP, FMEA, and FTA, and apply findings to refine design solutions.
- Support configuration management by maintaining design baselines, tracking revisions, and ensuring change traceability.
- Engage in peer design reviews and technical audits to uphold quality and performance standards.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
