Responsibilities
- Operate and sustain IP-based network infrastructures
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues in large-scale networks running protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and MPLS services including L2VPN, L3VPN, and 6PE
- Advise leadership effectively to handle major technical escalations and support timely decisions on operational enhancements
- Collaborate with engineers across departments and external vendors
- Produce thorough, high-quality documentation to support all engineering activities
- Manage and resolve incident tickets with accurate, valuable input, adhering to SLA timelines
- Initiate and approve network change requests as part of change control processes
- Coordinate and align change activities across multiple vendors and internal teams to prevent conflicts and ensure proper communication
- Partner with the Network Management Center to ensure network devices generate accurate alerts with proper severity levels and metadata
- Ensure timely and clear escalation of incidents by working closely with the Network Management Center
- Engage with vendors to support resolution of incidents and underlying problems
- Perform duties on a rotating shift schedule
- Validate and certify Junos, IOS, and IOS-XR configurations prior to production deployment
- Sustain and modernize the global corporate IP/MPLS network infrastructure
