What You'll Do
- Deploy and manage network devices and services across greenfield and brownfield sites, ensuring seamless integration and long-term stability.
- Continuously monitor network health, respond to alerts, and resolve incidents within defined SLA timeframes.
- Automate routine tasks using Python or Ansible to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Diagnose network issues using tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, and traceroute, conduct root cause analysis, and apply corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with system administrators, security teams, and vendors to align network capabilities with broader infrastructure goals.
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation, including L2 and L3 topology diagrams, and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address critical outages and urgent network events.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Cisco enterprise and data center platforms, including Catalyst, Nexus, Firepower, and ASA devices.
- Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VXLAN EVPN, STP variants, and tunneling technologies like GRE, L2TP, and IPsec.
- Familiarity with virtualization environments including VMware, Hyper-V, and Linux networking services.
- Experience automating network operations using Python, Ansible, or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability platforms like Zabbix, Grafana, PRTG, and NetBox.
- Solid grasp of network security principles, including firewall policies, ACLs, NAT, segmentation, and IDS/IPS concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues using standard diagnostic tools and deliver clear technical reports.
