Responsibilities
- Create rigorous and effective mathematics materials tailored to upper elementary learners
- Author original instructional text, practice problems, and evaluation tools for grades 3 through 6
- Structure lesson sequences that reflect developmental readiness and logical skill progression
- Identify frequent student errors and design targeted interventions to address misunderstandings
- Engage in cross-functional teamwork across content and technical domains
- Use established interactive formats, assessment frameworks, and teaching models to shape learning experiences
- Collaborate with UX designers, learning researchers, engineers, and motivation experts to develop an adaptive virtual instructor
- Embed evidence-based motivational strategies into lesson design, including autonomy support and confidence building
- Utilize foundational concepts from learning science to inform content development
- Apply cognitive load management, appropriate pacing, mastery-based progression, and misconception research
- Build layered instructional supports that center student needs and promote independence
- Produce precise, accessible, and compelling content optimized for individual digital learning environments
- Deliver content at scale without compromising quality or coherence
- Develop well-crafted learning modules with strong attention to consistency and accuracy
- Draw on direct classroom teaching experience to inform effective digital instruction methods
- Help refine and improve standardized processes for content production

Responsibilities
- Develop High-Quality Mathematics Content
- Write pedagogy, practice exercises, and assessments from the ground up in grades 3–6 mathematics
- Sequence lessons to align with cognitive development, prerequisite knowledge, and learning progressions
- Anticipate common mistakes and misconceptions and build corrective pathways
- Collaborate Across Disciplines
- Work within our content "toolkit" (interactive formats, assessment structures, pedagogical models) to design effective learning experiences
- Partner with designers, behavioral scientists, technologists, and SDT experts to bring our virtual teacher to life
- Integrate motivational principles (e.g., self-determination theory, growth mindset, self-efficacy) into content design
- Apply Learning Science & Instructional Design
- Leverage principles of cognitive load theory, pacing, mastery learning, and common misconception analysis
- Design scaffolded instruction that supports learner-centered experiences
- Create accurate, clear, and engaging content that works in one-on-one digital settings
- Produce Content Efficiently
- Generate high-quality modules with attention to detail and consistency
- Translate hands-on teaching experience into effective digital pedagogy
- Contribute to repeatable content creation systems
