Scotiabank is looking for a Senior Manager, Provisions Strategic Initiatives and Control function to execute the Continuous Change Cycle across the bank’s provision calculation and methodology. This role supports a large-scale transformation program across GRM to strengthen risk management, governance, and controls, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with IFRS 9 governance.

What You'll Do

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency within the Provisioning team.
  • Design and implement sustainable solutions by leveraging analytics, process reengineering, technology, and industry best practices.
  • Communicate and coordinate between various Risk stakeholders to bridge silos and enable alignment across teams throughout all stages of development and execution.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in risk management, financial controls, or governance within a banking context.
  • Strong background in process reengineering, analytics, and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Expert knowledge of IFRS 9 governance and its application.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups and break down organizational silos.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of translating complex concepts into actionable plans.
