As Chief Compliance Officer, you will shape and drive the compliance framework for a fast-evolving fintech operating in the UAE. Your primary responsibility is to ensure readiness for VARA’s regulatory expectations, maintain continuous supervision, and implement controls that scale efficiently with growing transaction volumes.
What You'll Do
You will serve as the main point of contact between the organization and VARA, managing day-to-day interactions while ensuring senior leadership remains actively engaged in regulatory dialogue. You’ll establish trust and credibility with regulators early, leveraging existing relationships if possible, to reduce onboarding risk.
You’ll also act as a strategic link between the operational environment in Dubai and executive decision-makers abroad, ensuring product development and compliance initiatives align with broader international expansion goals.
Requirements
- Must be a UAE-based compliance professional with at least five years of direct experience in regulated financial services, particularly within VASP, fintech, or digital payments sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as the primary liaison with financial regulators, exercising sound judgment and maintaining control integrity under growth pressure.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining regulatory trust in complex, fast-moving environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Senior compliance experience within a UAE-regulated institution.
- Prior engagement with VARA or similar regulatory bodies, including an established working relationship.
- Recognition as a Responsible Individual under applicable regulatory frameworks.
