About the Role
This position leads lease administration functions for a large commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring compliance, financial accuracy, and operational efficiency through proactive management of lease terms, stakeholder coordination, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the review and analysis of commercial lease agreements to ensure compliance with contractual terms
- Oversee accurate interpretation of lease clauses including rent, escalations, and renewal options
- Manage timelines for critical lease events such as expirations, options, and notifications
- Coordinate with property management and accounting teams to ensure financial reporting accuracy
- Ensure lease data integrity within internal databases and enterprise systems
- Supervise the preparation and submission of landlord billing reconciliations and audits
- Direct responses to landlord inquiries and resolve disputes related to lease terms
- Support portfolio-wide lease audits and due diligence during acquisitions or dispositions
- Train and mentor team members on lease administration best practices and system usage
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures for lease tracking and compliance
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams on lease amendments and modifications
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies for lease-related revenue and expenses
- Monitor changes in lease accounting standards and implement necessary process updates
- Prepare detailed reports on lease performance and administrative metrics for stakeholders
- Serve as a point of contact for regional teams on complex lease interpretation issues
- Maintain documentation for lease files in compliance with document retention policies
- Facilitate smooth transitions of lease responsibilities during client onboarding or transitions
- Utilize project management skills to manage multiple deadlines across a large portfolio
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend technology or workflow improvements
- Ensure consistency in lease administration practices across diverse property types
