Deloitte seeks a Senior Manager in Indirect Tax to lead engagements for government and public sector clients, providing strategic tax advice and managing compliance projects. You will build lasting client relationships, mentor teams, and contribute to thought leadership within our Indirect Tax Recovery group.
What You'll Do
- Lead client engagements for government and public sector clients.
- Provide strategic tax advice and manage compliance projects.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and mentor teams.
- Build and develop lasting relationships with clients as a trusted advisor.
- Lead research and implementation of an ITC allocation methodology and section 211, user-fee reviews.
- Manage tax audits and disputes.
- Prepare advisory reports, letters, memoranda, and presentations on complex topics.
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in indirect tax, with a strong focus on the public sector.
- Proven experience managing client engagements and leading project teams.
- Strong knowledge of the GST/HST legislation and public sector.
- Ability to travel to client sites will be required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- A completed accounting designation (CPA) would be an asset.
