About the Role
This position leads HR initiatives during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, evaluating people-related risks, organizational structures, and workforce planning to support strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead HR due diligence activities for acquisition targets and divestiture candidates
- Assess organizational design, headcount, and workforce planning implications
- Evaluate compensation and benefits programs for alignment and risk
- Identify cultural integration challenges between organizations
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and integration teams on transaction timelines
- Prepare HR-related transaction documentation and executive summaries
- Support post-deal integration planning and execution
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations across jurisdictions
- Manage external consultants and advisors during due diligence
- Provide guidance on change management and employee communications
- Analyze potential liabilities related to employment practices
- Review talent retention strategies and key personnel risks
- Advise on organizational restructuring and synergy planning
- Track and report on HR integration milestones
- Maintain confidentiality throughout sensitive transactions
- Develop standardized processes for repeatable M&A success
- Partner with regional HR leaders to understand local nuances
- Support leadership decision-making with data-driven insights
- Identify training and development needs post-acquisition
- Ensure consistent application of company policies across new entities
- Monitor regulatory filings related to workforce changes
- Facilitate knowledge transfer between acquiring and acquired teams
- Evaluate union and works council implications
- Assess HR information systems compatibility
- Drive continuous improvement in M&A HR practices
