Scotiabank is hiring a Senior Manager, Global Operational Risk to contribute to the second-line oversight of operational risk across the Bank’s Global Banking and Markets (GBM), Group Treasury (GT), Global Transaction and Banking (GTB), and Global Wholesale Operations (GWO). What You'll Do
- Leverage strong business knowledge to act as a trusted advisor, providing value-added advice and independent effective challenge to the GBM, GT, GTB, and GWO business lines in their operational risk management.
- Utilize key operational risk management tools such as Risk Control Self Assessments, operational risk scenario analysis, New Initiative Risk Assessment, Operational Risk Events escalation and assessment, issues management, and Key Risk Indicators reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a second-line operational risk advisory or oversight role within a large, complex financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets, treasury, transaction banking, or wholesale operations business lines.
- Deep expertise in operational risk frameworks and tools, including Risk Control Self Assessments, scenario analysis, and loss event management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide constructive challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
