Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of data platform engineers focused on building and maintaining core data infrastructure.
- Drive the architecture and implementation of scalable data storage, processing, and access solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand data needs and deliver robust platform capabilities.
- Ensure data reliability, security, and compliance across all platform components.
- Define and enforce best practices for data modeling, pipeline development, and system monitoring.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for data platform outages or performance issues.
- Evaluate and integrate new data technologies and tools to improve platform efficiency.
- Work closely with security and compliance teams to uphold data governance standards.
- Own the roadmap for data platform evolution and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline.
- Experience managing senior or principal engineers in a fast-paced organization.
- Track record of scaling data platforms in high-growth environments.
- Knowledge of real-time streaming data architectures using Kafka or similar tools.
- Familiarity with data mesh concepts and decentralized data ownership models.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized data workloads.
- Background in security-focused data environments or regulated industries.
