Brightspeed is hiring a Senior Manager, Project Manager, Fiber Engineering & Construction to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering projects, from network design to construction implementation and asset management. This role manages complex, long-duration projects within the Fiber Build program, requiring strong business acumen and data analytics.
What You'll Do
- Develop and monitor engineering and construction build plans across various network types
- Coordinate and create work schedules to ensure on-time delivery for both internal workforce and contracted vendors
- Track milestone activities for highly complex projects and programs across multiple lines of business
- Ensure compliance requirements are adhered to for all regulatory obligations
- Ensure projects meet network readiness dates within budget allotments via strong vendor performance management
- Utilize Cost Per Premise Modeling during design and revision phases
- Drive and facilitate actionable data analysis with partner groups (IT, Business, and Vendors)
- Provide technical oversight and support to OSP build and Operations teams
- Support removal of network build roadblocks associated with permitting and contractual interpretation via internal or external resources
- Collaborate with network and business domain leadership to design and implement future state processes
- Analyze, capture, and interpret Geographic Information System (GIS) and related IQGeo data
- Communicate Training, Job Aids, Methods & Procedures to numerous stakeholders and their teams
- Create and maintain IT enhancement requirements for the fiber design and build organization
- Perform User Acceptance Technical Testing
- Perform periodic Quality Inspections on the Fiber Build
- Travel periodically for staff meetings, vendor meetings, and locale relationship building
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Telecommunications experience
- Bachelor’s degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent practical work experience
- Project Manager Certification
- Ability to facilitate project creation and management in standard PM tools (MS Project, SmartSheets, Confluence, JIRA, Service Now)
- Experience with Telecom Network Design systems (IQGeo, GIS, SmallWorld)
- Experience with Telecom Facility Record Management tools (O2, BOSS, AMS)
- Usability and understanding of data visualization tools (PowerBI, Power Apps)
- Vendor & Contract Administration experience
- Usability and understanding of financial systems (Ariba, SAP, Accounts Payable)
- Ability to create complex Methods & Procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft (more specifically PowerPoint & Excel), Adobe, and related systems
- Ability to analyze data to drive strategic business decisions
- Ability to build a cohesive relationship with multiple departments through training, development, and accountability
Nice to Have
- Master's degree and/or related work experience
- Knowledgeable in NDS, TIRKS, SAP, Fireworks, BidMaster, LeaseNet, WFMT, CLM, APO, FT3, ARMOR, MARTENS, Uniqual, O2, NJUNS, SPANS, JRM
- Experience with Regulatory subsidy compliance
