Responsibilities
- Assist in completing month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and analytical reports.
- Conduct testing and documentation procedures to support financial closing processes.
- Evaluate financial outcomes to confirm proper accounting treatment under US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
- Prepare accurate and timely GAAP-compliant work papers and schedules for audits.
- Support internal and external auditors and tax teams during reviews and examinations.
- Review financial data for joint ventures and investments to verify adherence to accounting policies.
- Assess transactions involving sales, acquisitions, debt refinancing, and REIT restructuring for proper accounting treatment.
- Monitor ongoing financial performance of investments and underlying assets.
- Address ad hoc financial queries and integrate findings into periodic reporting cycles.
- Deliver insights into investment and property performance to support management decision-making.
- Compute and assess key performance indicators at both portfolio and property levels.
- Evaluate unlevered and levered returns, gross and net performance, and internal rates of return.
- Offer technical guidance to junior staff on complex investment accounting issues.
- Advise on proper application of investment accounting policies and procedures.
- Help develop, document, and refine financial reporting and treasury processes.
- Support enhancements to segment-related financial procedures.
- Maintain compliance with SOX requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Execute control activities to strengthen internal financial controls.
- Contribute to strategic projects such as system upgrades and process optimization.
- Support initiatives related to new product launches and asset management improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficient in Excel, with skills ranging from intermediate to advanced levels.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year university.
- Five or more years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Experience with Yardi and Workiva software platforms.
