Responsibilities
- Deliver construction management support through field inspection and monitoring of roadways and structures to verify adherence to design plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Independently manage and oversee all stages of construction inspection for complex projects involving heavy traffic control, public sensitivity, environmental concerns, or extensive coordination with property owners, utilities, or government entities
- Demonstrate strong communication skills across multiple channels with project teams, clients, stakeholders, the public, and contractors
- Lead and supervise the work of entry-level inspection personnel, providing technical guidance and performance oversight
- Organize and lead meetings with project stakeholders to align on construction progress and resolve issues
- Collaborate with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines throughout project execution
- Actively engage in resolving complex field challenges by delivering technical assessments and practical solutions
- Observe and record contractor activities, identifying and documenting any work that fails to meet compliance requirements
- Verify alignment, elevation, dimensions, and grading using standard surveying and field engineering tools
- Oversee the placement of construction materials, track required testing frequency, and conduct materials testing as needed
- Conduct on-site measurements and maintain records of daily installed work quantities
- Keep detailed project documentation including daily logs, materials compliance records, pay item quantities, as-built drawings, EEO reports, change orders, and monthly payment requests
- Support construction management with tracking project timelines, budgets, and the development of change order and notice of intent analyses
