As a Senior Import Specialist, you will play a key role in managing end-to-end international procurement operations, from supplier engagement through to warehouse receipt. You will ensure all import activities comply with current regulations and support efficient, reliable supply chain performance across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, assessment, and ongoing evaluation of international suppliers
- Oversee customs clearance, logistics coordination, and product compliance for inbound shipments
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import laws, trade regulations, and Incoterms
- Request and analyze supplier quotations, negotiate terms, and prepare purchase contracts
- Identify and qualify alternative sourcing options and sub-tier partners
- Plan and conduct supplier audits, then drive follow-up actions based on findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain disruptions
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and demonstrate at least seven years of experience in import operations or international procurement. Familiarity with SAP and MS Office is required, along with strong written and spoken English. Proven negotiation skills and a solid understanding of customs processes are essential.
Experience in HVAC, automotive, or home appliance manufacturing is preferred. Prior work in logistics or customs operations will be considered a strong advantage.
