Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical site investigations and subsurface evaluations
- Design shallow and deep foundation systems
- Assess slope stability and recommend mitigation measures
- Prepare technical reports and construction specifications
- Review drilling logs and soil test data
- Perform settlement and bearing capacity analyses
- Support dam and levee design projects
- Evaluate seismic risks and liquefaction potential
- Guide earth retention system designs
- Supervise field exploration activities
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and codes
- Coordinate with structural and transportation teams
- Manage project timelines and deliverables
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Provide technical mentorship to junior staff
- Conduct peer reviews of engineering designs
- Assist in risk assessments for construction projects
- Prepare cost estimates for geotechnical work
- Support emergency response for geotechnical failures
- Participate in client meetings and presentations
- Oversee laboratory testing programs
- Develop instrumentation and monitoring plans
- Evaluate existing structures for retrofit needs
- Contribute to environmental remediation projects
- Apply advanced numerical modeling techniques
