About the Role
The role involves designing and executing geological exploration programs to locate high-value mineral deposits, integrating cutting-edge data tools with traditional fieldwork to improve discovery success.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of field exploration campaigns
- Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify targets
- Collaborate with data scientists to refine predictive models
- Manage sample collection, logging, and analytical follow-up
- Develop 3D geological models from field and remote data
- Guide drilling programs and oversee core description
- Evaluate new exploration technologies and methodologies
- Integrate remote sensing data into exploration strategies
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal review
- Ensure field safety and compliance with environmental standards
- Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance
- Work cross-functionally with engineering and sustainability teams
- Prioritize exploration areas using risk-based frameworks
- Conduct site reconnaissance and regional geological assessments
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mineral systems and deposit models
- Support land access and permitting efforts with technical input
- Use GIS and data visualization tools for spatial analysis
- Evaluate third-party data for exploration relevance
- Contribute to long-term exploration strategy development
- Track exploration performance metrics and adapt approaches
Nice to Have
- Experience in lateritic or magmatic systems
- Background in African or Southeast Asian geology
- Proficiency with machine learning applications in geology
- Experience working with autonomous data collection systems
- Prior work in early-stage greenfield exploration
- Knowledge of lithium, cobalt, or nickel systems
