Sydecar is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead one of our core product engineering teams. In this role, you will combine technical leadership with people management to build high-performing teams and turn strategic goals into outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Own business-critical initiatives by partnering with Product and Design to define and deliver work that creates real user and business value.
- Translate company strategy into clear, actionable technical plans with measurable outcomes.
- Prioritize the highest-impact work and create focus within the team even when goals are evolving.
- Lead effectively in ambiguity by structuring complex problem spaces and creating alignment around what matters most.
- Guide architectural thinking and support strong technical decisions without becoming a bottleneck.
- Help the team balance delivery speed with technical sustainability.
- Set a high bar for quality by encouraging craftsmanship, operational rigor, and scalable thinking.
- Build a high-trust, high-performing engineering team focused on ownership, urgency, and product impact.
- Invest in the development of engineers and future leaders by creating growth opportunities that align with team goals.
- Act as a force for clarity and alignment across engineering, product, and cross-functional partners.
What We're Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of engineering management experience in fast-moving, product-led environments.
- 8 or more years of hands-on software engineering experience, with the ability to support technical design and strategy.
- A track record of leading teams that have shipped meaningful, high-impact product work.
Work Mode
This is a hybrid role open to candidates in San Francisco or New York City.
