Responsibilities
- Applies standard scientific and engineering methods to carry out diverse office-based tasks.
- Leads field teams by organizing, planning, and supervising fieldwork under project management guidance.
- Conducts independent field assignments and collects various types of environmental data, including soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and related samples.
- Prioritizes health and safety in the execution of all field projects.
- Interprets and evaluates environmental sample results within the geological context of the project site.
- Prepares technical documents, work plans, and reports with moderate supervision.
- Supports the development of project proposals, cost projections, and subcontractor bid solicitations.
- Collaborates with project managers using strong organizational and communication skills to meet deadlines and budgets.
- May offer technical direction or mentorship to junior geologists, engineers, or environmental scientists.
- May oversee environmental site investigations of varying scope and complexity.
- Performs additional duties as assigned and relevant to the position.
