About the Role
This position involves leading engineering operations on civil infrastructure projects, ensuring technical accuracy, safety compliance, and effective team coordination from planning through to handover.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of engineering activities on site
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Manage technical aspects of project delivery within agreed timelines
- Supervise subcontractors and on-site personnel to maintain performance standards
- Conduct regular inspections and quality assurance checks
- Prepare and review engineering documentation and method statements
- Collaborate with project managers to resolve design or scheduling issues
- Support the development of junior engineering staff
- Maintain accurate records of progress and site activities
- Identify and mitigate project risks in coordination with site teams
- Ensure adherence to engineering specifications and contractual requirements
- Coordinate with design teams to implement changes efficiently
- Monitor project budgets and report on cost variances
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and on-site teams
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Assist in commissioning and handover of completed works
- Implement company quality management systems on site
- Contribute to tender and bid preparation for future projects
- Use digital tools for project tracking and reporting
- Ensure sustainability practices are followed during construction
- Respond to technical queries from clients or regulators
- Maintain familiarity with industry standards and best practices
- Support innovation in construction techniques and materials
- Uphold professional conduct and ethical standards
- Participate in internal audits and performance reviews
