KRUSH Labs is hiring a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain tailored Linux distributions using Yocto and OpenEmbedded frameworks
• Build and manage custom layers, recipes, and board support packages
• Customize and configure U-Boot, kernel, and root filesystem components
• Improve boot speed and overall system reliability
• Implement over-the-air update capabilities as needed
• Troubleshoot, modify, and enhance Linux kernel drivers
• Work with onboard communication protocols including I2C, SPI, and UART
• Adjust and resolve issues in device tree configurations
• Examine kernel logs, crashes, race conditions, and performance bottlenecks
• Diagnose low-level timing and hardware interfacing challenges
• Enable functionality on prototype or partially operational hardware
• Analyze low-level problems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debugging probes
• Interpret electronic schematics accurately
• Differentiate between hardware faults and software bugs
• Partner closely with electronics and RF engineering teams
• Develop embedded Linux systems with strong security foundations
• Implement secure boot processes and strengthen bootloader security
• Apply dm-verity, encrypted storage, and read-only root filesystems when necessary
• Set up secure remote connectivity using hardened SSH, firewalls, and VPNs
• Demonstrate knowledge of standard network protocols
• Detect and reduce system-wide security vulnerabilities
• Assist in integrating wireless technologies such as WiFi and custom RF modules
• Stay current with wireless protocol specifications
• Apply RF fundamentals to support collaboration with RF specialists
• Resolve integration problems involving Linux, FPGA, and RF components
