About the Role
This position involves leading electrical distribution engineering activities, providing technical expertise on power systems, and supporting project delivery from concept through to implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and review of electrical distribution system designs
- Conduct power system studies including load flow, short circuit, and coordination analyses
- Prepare technical specifications and procurement documentation
- Support project management with scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
- Perform field assessments and site inspections
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on integrated projects
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Develop and review protection and control schematics
- Evaluate existing infrastructure for upgrades and reliability improvements
- Contribute to risk assessments and safety reviews
- Apply engineering software tools for modeling and simulation
- Support construction phase with technical clarifications and field reviews
- Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation
- Participate in design reviews and technical meetings
- Ensure designs meet sustainability and efficiency goals
- Stay current with advancements in electrical distribution technologies
- Assist in business development and proposal preparation
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices
