About the Role
The role involves owning the architecture and performance of Elasticsearch clusters, supporting large-scale data operations, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure efficient search and data retrieval capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Elasticsearch solutions for high-volume data environments
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cluster performance and stability
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate search functionality into applications
- Evaluate and apply new Elasticsearch features and version upgrades
- Ensure data consistency, availability, and disaster recovery across clusters
- Develop automation scripts for deployment, scaling, and maintenance tasks
- Enforce security policies and access controls within Elasticsearch environments
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in query execution and indexing
- Support incident response and root cause analysis for production issues
- Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
- Work closely with data engineers to streamline data ingestion pipelines
- Maintain observability through logging, alerting, and monitoring tools
- Contribute to capacity planning based on usage trends and growth forecasts
- Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards
- Provide technical guidance during on-call rotations and critical outages
Nice to Have
- Prior work with Elasticsearch versions 7 and above
- Exposure to large-scale financial or transactional data systems
- Involvement in migrating on-premise systems to cloud infrastructure
- Contributions to open-source search or data projects
- Certifications related to Elasticsearch or cloud platforms
