Ocado Group was looking for a Senior Director of Strategic Business Development

As Senior Director of Strategic Business Development, you will identify and advance transformative opportunities that align with long-term objectives in automation, retail technology, and supply chain innovation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end development of enterprise opportunities, from initial identification through strategic evaluation and execution planning.
  • Conduct in-depth market and competitive analysis to build targeted prospecting strategies and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Initiate and guide executive-level discussions with potential partners, investors, and industry leaders to explore collaboration pathways.
  • Represent the organization at major industry forums, shaping external perception and building a robust pipeline of future opportunities.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with C-suite executives and decision-makers across retail, technology, and logistics sectors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including product, finance, legal, and executive leadership to align strategic positioning and messaging.
  • Develop financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to inform capital allocation and investment decisions.
  • Monitor emerging trends in eCommerce, automation, and consumer behavior to identify risks and strategic openings.
  • Design and track KPIs to measure progress and refine long-term engagement strategies.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven insights to executives and stakeholders through concise, high-impact presentations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated success in building senior-level relationships that lead to major partnerships or enterprise deals.
  • Background in strategic business development, corporate strategy, investment banking, management consulting, or enterprise technology sales.
  • Strong financial fluency, with experience in P&L analysis, capital planning, and business case development.
  • Ideal candidates will have exposure to eCommerce, grocery retail, supply chain logistics, or automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with M&A strategy, partnership structuring, or corporate development is a strong plus.

This role is remote within the United States, with approximately 60% travel required. You will work across time zones and engage with global teams, partners, and stakeholders.
